Day 26 – Favourite death in the series.
Now with Torchwood, this seems like a complete oxymoron. Even when a death seems beautifully done, it's kind of ruined by being unnecessary and/or stupid. However, I did like when Clem shot Jack in Day Four. It made sense and Ianto was right there so he runs to Jack, letting Gwen take care of Clem. Then, Ianto cradles Jack's body so he has a comforting presence when he wakes up again which Jack really needs, judging from how Jack grabs onto Ianto once he comes back. To me, you can see how much they love each other right there and how much Ianto has had to go through that before.

Date: 2011-10-09 12:00 am (UTC)I'm watching The Stolen Earth right now and it's weird how much I miss the old dynamic...
I think I'm sort of over it and then I see something like this episode and it's quite plain that I'm not...

Date: 2011-10-09 12:25 am (UTC)I don't make fanvids, and when I'm given a warning I don't watch ones with CoE content. I think Torchwood:The Orginal Series ended with "Exit Wounds." It had full 13 episode seasons, and no subtitling. TW:CoE was a crap mini-series made after TW:TOS, and TW:MD was a crap American series made after the Brit one.

I wouldn't say there's anything weird about missing "the old dynamic." I think the franchise jumped the shark as soon as it started mucking about with the dynamic.

Developing an ability to put up with the crap the franchise has been reduced to, which I'm not about to, isn't the same as "getting over it." One can accept what there is to get, and still miss what they aren't getting. I prefer to think of the Torchwood franchise as having ended with the Torchwood: The Lost Files radio play "The House of the Dead." I don't care to think about the stuff that's been produced since.
