Avengers, again....
Apr. 28th, 2012 01:35 amYesterday, I spotted a love bug and was actually happy about it because love bugs mean that May is coming. I want May to be here just because of...
May 5th when I finally get to see The Avengers!!!!!
This is like utter fangirl level red to infinity and beyond, I'm not even sure I can describe the level of intensity of my obsession right now. It's like a combination of the level it was when it was Pirates, Spider-man 3, Doctor Who and Harry Potter all together in 2007.
This is how sad I am right now...
I bought the first four seasons of Sex and the City. Now, I had always planned on getting the series since my friends hooked me on it in college and I got them hooked on Coupling. I just hadn't gotten around to it.
So, was it:
The fact that the seasons were just ten bucks a piece? A little bit
The fact that they had improved the previously flimsy containers? A little bit
The fact that Clark Gregg is in a season 3 episode? Yes, yes, it was...
I also plan on re-watching 500 Days of Summer, Midnight in Paris and Lords of Dogtown.
Then, once I see The Avengers...summer will be over. I know it isn't and there are other fine films coming out that I want to see but nothing that comes close to this level of wanting...
until December and The Hobbit.
It was only recently that my mom learned that May 4th is Avengers because she would think you were referring to Star Wars Day aka May the Fourth be with you!
Also, she says that we'll go to Downtown Disney soon but she wanted to wait until after The Avengers came out so all the merchandise would be out.

Date: 2012-04-28 06:41 am (UTC)We finally saw Midnight in Paris when it came on Starz, and we loved it. I had a fangirl squee moment when Tom Hiddleston came on and I was like, "Mom, that's the guy who played Loki!" I think she thought I was nuts. *giggles*
The Avengers merchandise is sad pickings in my tiny town. I've only seen a few action figures (Iron Man and Thor), and they're still carrying a few Thor figures (Thor and Loki)!
After The Avengers, I'm looking forward to Dark Knight Rises and Amazing Spider-Man, and that'll be pretty much my summer.

Date: 2012-04-29 04:55 pm (UTC)Now, I loved Thor but I was always more of a Thor girl growing up. Everyone was fawning over Tom Hiddleston especially a good friend of mine and I couldn't see it.
I couldn't wait to see Midnight in Paris. It was a guy going back in time and hanging out with freaking Hemingway and Fitzgerald in Paris! Who hasn't thought about how awesome that would be?
We went to the theatre for it and I was extremely impressed with Fitzgerald actor. He was very attractive and his eyes were gorgeous and the curls and everything...gone. Then, I watch the credits and it's Tom Hiddleston, the guy everyone's in love with! After that I found out about his being a fanboy of everything awesome and...it's just hopeless now, that is why he shall ever be known on Tumblr as LIFE RUINER!
Aww, sorry about the merchandise, tomorrow, I will be double-checking to see if a different Toys'r'us might have the Coulson figure from Thor. So far, I like my squinkies best but there is no Coulson squinkie.
Now, I admit I will probably see all Avengers related films like Snow white and the Huntsman and The Bourne Legacy but about those other comic book films, well...
I loved Batman Begins. I did. It had a little of everything; dark and light. The second one...it was too dark for me. I saw it once in the theatre and literally have had no desire to see it since. I thought the Harvey Dent romance was stupid and didn't believe they were in love. The death scene was awful...it's especially bad when I think something was done better on Torchwood. I didn't like the constant violence and making us think they killed off Commissioner Gordon.
It just wasn't fun for me and I know a lot of people liked it and that's great but I didn't so while I'm going to see it, I'm very curious about Selina Kyle, I'm not looking forward to it.
Ah, The Amazing Spixder-man aka Emma Stone and Denis Leary rope me into a movie. I LOVE the Tobey Maguire/Sam Raimi films. I just felt like it was too soon. It's only been five years since the last film which I will remember forever because my favorite characters list had an extremely high death count in a matter of weeks thanks to Spider-man 3, Pirates of the Caribbean 3 and Deathly Hallows. It was rough.
Now, I also have a new problem...I LOVE Ultimate Spider-man on Disney XD and will probably keep wondering through the whole movie...but where's Coulson and Fury?

Date: 2012-04-30 05:44 am (UTC)I'm interested in seeing Snow White and the Huntsman and Bourne Legacy too. There is one non-Avenger related movie I'm interested in seeing, and that's Prometheus. One can hardly go wrong with a Ridley Scott film. I'm also looking forward to seeing The Hobbit later this year.
I do agree that is seems too soon to reboot Spidey, but the trailers are interesting, and I like that kid who's playing him. Nothing will be like those first Spidey films though, same as how no Superman film can compare to the Christopher Reeve one.
I sadly don't have Disney XD, so I've been missing out on the new Spidey and Avengers cartoons. I read an article about the upcoming Spider-Man episode where he meets the Hulk, and it sounds really interesting. I do think it's funny that Coulson is Peter's principal (adding to the Supernanny legend)!

Date: 2012-05-01 03:19 am (UTC)Still, I assumed that for Avengers, there would be action figures for Coulson, Black Widow and Hawkeye and there isn't.
I am intrigued by finding out that Gwen Stacey will find out that Peter is Spider-man which never happened in the comics.
I had Cartoon Disney and that turned into Disney XD. It's really awesome...did not know about the Hulk! Yay! On Sunday, Coulson was revealed to favor tightie-whities, hehe. Peter asked if his mind could be wiped.

Date: 2012-04-28 09:47 pm (UTC)And yeah, once I see it, summer will be over for me too. Nothing of major fan interest for me until The Hobbit.
