Now, I got distracted a lot during the parade especially when Disney, Jimmy Fallon or The Hobbit weren't involved but did they have anything for Smash?
I don't remember anything.
Also, now that Disney owns Lucasfilm, when do we get the giant Yoda balloon?

Silver Linings Playbook

Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence in a film directed by David O. Russell who did the practically perfect I Heart Huckabees?

I was sold before seeing a single trailer. Then, I did and it endeared me even more. Bradley Cooper wakes up his parents to complain about the end of A Farewell to Arms.

Bradley's Character: No, I will not apologize but I will apologize on behalf of Ernest Hemingway because HE is the one who should be apologizing!

I hate this book with a passion and it's all the more infuriating that this is the only Hemingway book most will ever read unlike quality books like The Sun Also Rises or A Movable Feast.

So, I was looking forward to it and my mom was not.

Mom: It's an old people movie with Robert DeNiro and everything...

(We go inside the auditorium and it's all old people.)

Me: I think I dragged you to an old people movie?

Mom: I may have been a bad influence...

It has its funny parts but it's more serious like The Fighter with a little bit of light-heartedness now and then. It is really good though and my mom actually liked Bradley Cooper in it. He usually annoys her. Jennifer Lawrence continues to be amazing. I hope her Hunger Games fans watch this and Winter's Bone.

Rise of the Guardians

If there is one good thing to have come from 3D, the movies have become so damn PRETTY! I watched this in 2D but it was still so beautiful especially Sandman and the backgrounds.

I have renewed interest in finding that story where Jack Frost is Loki's son because it made it even more plausible. I also loved how the Yeti was named Phil and signed his photo.

It was a really cute movie and I ended up loving the twists on the old stories. My main problem was that the whole world does not wake up for holidays at the same time. Also, it was very ironic to have the Easter Bunny talking about it being spring around the world when he's voiced by an Australian (Hugh Jackman) and half the world, including Australia, would be having fall during Easter.

Rise of the Guardians felt overly like a children's movie at times for it to really work for me, but the Final Fantasy design element of it was rather gorgeous. And there were some seriously adorable parts. Like uber-bunnified Easter Bunny.
I saw it with my friend a few weeks ago, and we joked that the movie had the reverse effect on us because the villain was voiced by Jude Law which instantly made him the sexiest character around so we were kind of rooting for him.

I would love to see a giant Yoda balloon.

The Yeti being Loki's son would not be entirely implausible. He sired dragons and wolves, why not Yeti?

I just can't get into Rise of the Guardians. I have friends who are flailing about it, but for some reason I can't get into it. I will say that Santa is badass though.
