Paper Towns was removed from a local summer reading list. I've never read John Green before but I was a little curious especially since it takes place in Florida. Then, my mom and I were reading the backs of his other books and she pointed out how they all seem to be about a young man who meets a woman, possibly mysterious, who he shouldn't fall for but totally does fall for and then, she teaches him how to really live.

His stories are very formulaic. Good, but formulaic.

I am just wondering why it was removed. I distinctly remember reading worse things in school, but I suppose different districts have different rules.

I've read several of his books. I really dislike them, mostly because of the hype around him as a writer. He has one plot and one set of characters. He changed the names and the circumstances but it is basically one story over and over again. I'm reading Looking for Alaska now. I was feeling nervous/disgusted/irritated by page 22.
