Here's my crazy theory:

At first, I thought it was weird that Jack's dad would be named...Franklin because it's so normal, but then, I remembered one of the most famous fictional Franklins of all time: Franklin Richards

Not only that, but Franklin Richards is famous for his powers of distorting time and space as well as being telepathic. Franklin's governess was even named Agatha Harkness.

So, what if...Jack's dad was Franklin Richards?

Of course, since Jack, in real life, was named after Agatha, it makes more sense that the writers just read too much Fantastic Four, but that would make a great crackfic.

I thought Gray might be named after Jean Grey, but apparently, they're spelled different.

Hehe, maybe the radiation that the Fantastic Four was exposed to was actually that thing from "The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances" and they were remade into aliens? Franklin was remade into a Gallifreyian?

Yep, that's my thinking. I'm actually kind of hoping we'll see Gray again in either the upcoming season of Torchwood or future ones. I'd like to know more about him :).

Hmmm..., maybe. But if that's who he's based on, the character's sex was changed (though Jack did say in the series premiere that he got pregnant once, and it's possible in the form of the Face of Boe, he also did), as was their fate- Dream Summers died at twenty-three, and though Jack has died a number of times, he always comes back to life. Keeping that in mind, it's hard to say for sure :/.

You know, this is really a lot of fun, all this speculating about how much Jack is connected (or not) to characters in the Marvel Universe :D!
